ID: Shift: Day 4x9-Hour (05:30 - 15:00) Description: M W-F 530-1500OBMI RequiredPosition Summary: The function of the Radiologic Technologist position within the Department of Diagnostic Imaging is to perform all phases of technical diagnostic imaging. Radiologic Technologists operate X-Ray equipment used to capture and develop images for the purpose of medical diagnosis. The Radiologic technologist promotes OHSU s mission statement by delivering high quality cost effective family-oriented service. This position helps to create a collaborative environment by integrating education research and clinical leadership. Radiologic Technologists work with infant pediatric adult and geriatric Responsibilities: 1 IMAGING: Provides quality images with accuracy and efficiency using optimal skills and knowledge of all will be trained in all general radiology exams/areas so that they are able to rotate through the department based on workflow the VIP transportation system to arrange for patient patient for diagnostic radiology exams according to department procedures training and machine requirements with a high regard for the safety and care of the radiology equipment determines and sets exposure factors sets technique utilizing all relevant factors to ensure accurate and quality images with minimal and acceptable repeat computer image processing as needed to select process optimize and archive images to tracks exams in the Radiology Information and presents images and related patient information to radiologist for with patient transport by moving patients using standard in the training of Radiologic Technology Students and adheres to dept. policy on supervision of student technologists. 2 DOCUMENTATION: Gathers complete documentation of all pertinent information to provide accurate and timely service to to correctly identify patients by checking their identity per department patient chart and orders to insure correct images completely with demographic position and other needed documentation. Follows dept policy on the use of anatomical activities gathers charging information and charges exams as department and hospital procedures and quality control and quality assurance records results and reports variance from normal equipment :Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited diagnostic radiography program that meets current qualifications to take and pass the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) board examinations in Radiography upon : OHSU-partnered Radiologic Technology program : Preferred: Level 1 Trauma Center experience; Academic Medical Center Certifications and/or Licenses:Must be OBMI licensed. Must be ARRT eligible upon hire and ARRT registered within 6 months of hire date. Must have current approved BLS card.
