The post holder will be assigned to an established mobile team vaccination base to be confirmed on order to support population immunisation programmes the post holder will be required to be on site at a number of vaccination bases and outreach sites within the region. There is currently one permanent vacancy available in the HSE Dublin & Midlands Health Region.

The HSE Vaccination Programme provides a comprehensive immunisation service across the Dublin and Midlands region supporting a population of over 1.1 million people. The service includes fixed vaccination centres mobile units schools immunisation programmes and outreach activities inclusive of engagement with acute and specialist services as appropriate. The pharmacy function provides clinical governance procurement stock control cold chain oversight and professional leadership to ensure the safe and effective management of vaccines in line with national clinical guidelines and HSE protocols within the Region. The role will involve integrated working and interfaces with the National Immunisation Office Department of Health HSE procurement national TrackVax digital systems and community facilities within the Region. This also includes engagement with General Practitioners and Pharmacists in services across the region as appropriate to the role. Future developments include expanded immunisation programmes digital transformation and cold chain capacity building. Future plans involve the integration of other immunisation services and this role will evolve in line with service changes and developments and the broader strategic direction of immunisations within the HSE and at regional level. Working with registered pharmacists and all members of the multidisciplinary team will be core to successful delivery of regional immunisation programmes operating under the governance of the Department of Public Health Dublin & Midlands. This is a senior position and forms part of the senior leadership team in the vaccination service; the role has a regional remit within the Dublin & Midlands region. The post may be reassigned to other regional needs in the future as required.
