We are seeking a Principal Application Developer to serve as a critical liaison between Business Networkand IT shaping the future of our application landscape.The candidateplaysa key role indesigns developing APIs/services data flows and integrations with upstream/downstream systems andmaintainingindustry-leading solutions that drive business transformation and operational excellence.The candidate will lead end-to-end design and development for application features enhancements and fixes.Owns solution design for features/enhancements reviews designs and guides implementation.If you thrive in a collaborative fast-paced environment and enjoy tackling complex challenges this is the opportunity for you.
WhatYoullDo
Collaborate with business Network and IT stakeholders to translate strategicobjectivesinto actionable technology roadmaps.
Design develop andmaintainapplications using JavaSpringboot Microservices and modern cloud technologies.
Analyze business requirements and propose innovative cost-effective solutions from ideation to production.
Lead solution design sessions ensuring scalability operational excellence and alignment with customer needs.
Mentor development teams promote best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Provide hands-on development for complex components resolve critical defects and support production issues.
Track and report on IT portfolio metrics project timelines and delivery status to ensure successful outcomes.
Work with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements align priorities andmaintaindeliverytransparency for stakeholders.
WhatYoullBring:
Bachelors degree in computer science plus 9 years of progressive experience in software development and solution architecture.
Extensive hands-onexpertisewith agentic AI AI-assisted development and LLM-based application patterns including PythonLangChain/LangGraph prompt workflows tool integration and responsible AI practices.
Proficiencywith AI tools such as GitHub Copilot Claude Windsurf and agent-based coding as well as expert-level skills in JavaSpringboot(REST MVC Security) Microservices and modern cloud technologies.
Strong knowledge of telecom industry standards business processes and technology solutions.
Deep experience with Docker Kubernetes Bitbucket Kafka Jenkins Git OpenShift AKS and cloud-native development.
Proven ability to gather document and analyze complex business and technical requirements lead solution design manage product backlogs and guide Agile sprint/release planning.
Excellent communication and leadership skills including mentoring teams conducting technical reviews andmaintainingdocumentation repositories.
(Preferred) Experience in end-to-end business process optimization and IT portfolio management.
Our Principal Software Engineering earns between$174100-$261100 USD Annual Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography experience expertise and education/training.
