Job Summary

TITLE: CHILD CARE CENTER COORDINATOR
QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelors degree in Education with a concentration in ChildDevelopment or Early Childhood
2. At least 5 years experience working in early childhood education
3. Previous experience as a child care center assistantcoordinator/director or coordinator/director preferred

4. Certification as a Director of a child care center per the ArizonaDepartment of Health Services
5. Evidence of strong organizational communication and interpersonalskills
6. Thorough understanding of child care center operations includingimplementation of state and District policies and procedures andmanagement of a budget.


Alternative to the above qualifications as the Governing Board findsappropriate and acceptable.

WORKS CLOSELY WITH: Preschool Coordinator Director of Special Education Director ofEducational Services Public Information Officer

JOB GOAL: To coordinate budget manage the successful daily operation of the ChildCare Center and supervise employees in the Bullhead City School DistrictChild Care Center following the guidelines of the Arizona Department ofHealth Services and District guidelines.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain high-quality child care standards based on developmentallyappropriate practices.
2. Develop a budget for the center and establish controls to assure thatthe center adheres to the budget.
3. Ensure that the program is cost effective and funds are managedprudently and within District procedures.
4. Develop and implement policies and procedures specifically for theoperation of the child care center.

5. Assure consistent compliance with all Arizona DHS minimumstandards including maintenance of annual fire health and otherinspections.
6. Coordinate annual licensing of the child care center.
7. Maintain files according to ADHS requirements.
8. Oversee the day-to-day functions of the child care center and managestaff.
9. Supervise all staff members of the child care center includingsubstitute staff.
10. Oversee the hiring process and orientation for all new staff.
11. Oversee ongoing training and professional development of child carecenter staff.
12. Coordinate implementation of the Colorado River Union High SchoolDistrict CTE program if appropriate.
13. Provide accurate and meaningful annual performance evaluations forall child care staff.
14. Maintain open consistent and effective communication with parentsproviding parent education training assistance and support asneeded.
15. Provide reliable accurate and timely information about the child carecenter to interested parties.
16. Follow all policies regulations and procedures of the District anddirectives from the Superintendent.
17. Maintain an understanding of the current best practices of curriculumand administrative functions of child development programs.
18. Coordinate with the Public Information Officer to articulate thecenters mission to employees and other stakeholders.
19. Communicate positively and effectively with staff children parentsand the community.
20. Perform other related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:199-207 days/school year. Salary rate and workdays established by the Board.


EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions ofthe Boards policy on Evaluation of Staff.
