Job Summary
Training Supervisor - Tri Delta Transit
Salary Range:$70000 - $80121(commensurate with experience)
Role purpose: The Training Supervisor is responsible for proper training and re-training of designated employees including safety education accident prevention loss control post-accident and regulatory compliance. This individual is also responsible for ensuring accurate recordkeeping relative to DOT compliance CHP compliance and other applicable rules and regulations. This individual may also serve as backup to the Training Manager on an as-needed basis.
Knowledge and Experience:
- High school diplomarequired; college degree preferred
- MustholdTransportation Safety Institute (TSI)instructor certification
- Musthavea currentCAClass B Commercial Driver Licensewith airbrakes and passenger endorsement
- Must have a valid medical examiners certificate
- Must have a valid VTT certification
- Must have had CA Class BCDLwith passenger endorsement for a minimum of 2 full years
- Must have at least 3 years progressive transit experience with commercial class B vehicles in a fixed route transit system
- Knowledgeable with DOT policies OSHA NIMS EPAstandardsand ADA requirements
- Experience developing and implementing safetyand trainingprogram plans and procedures; conducting investigations analyzing data andidentifyingand recommending corrective action
- Mustmaintainconfidentiality and safeguarding of sensitive material
- Conducting oral presentations relaying technical information in understandable terms
- Experience in training qualified candidates for employment
- Able to work without direct supervision
- Must be able and willing to work flexible schedule that may include nights weekends and holidays
- Must be able to work in a union environment
- Must know the geographical areawhere TriDelta Transit operates
- Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce
- Experience with employee coaching and the administration of corrective action preferred.
- CPRAEDand First Aid Certification (Provided by the Company)
Skills:
- Possess a working knowledge of adult education principles and practices
- Possess the skills necessary to write and express oneself orally in a logicalcomprehensiveand intelligent manner as well as good organizational skills
- Possess the temperament necessary formaintainingamiable relations with various levels of company personnel
- Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Access Excel and Word

Key Accountabilities:
Compliance
- Responsible for ensuring all training is compliant with State and Federal regulations and the local contract
- Responsible formaintainingaccuratetraining filesand training tracking reports.
- Conduct monthly audits for safety sensitive employee DOT physical and license renewals and random drug and alcohol compliance.
Safety
- Investigateandrecommendonreports ofhazardous locations situations or events.
- Backup Road Supervisor andcouldbe used in revenueservicein the event ofan emergency.
- Supports the overall safety program as directed by the Safety Manager.
- Assists the Safety Manager in coordinating andfacilitatingmonthly safety meetings and serves as a member of the safety committee.
- Manage and investigate near-miss reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Training
- Responsible for teaching and supporting the overall safety program to include introductory OSHA training introductory training for dispatchers and training for road supervisors to include accident investigation.
- Provides coaching and counseling to employeestocorrectbehaviornot meeting operational standards.
- Responsible for teaching and coordinating new-hire bus operator training including classroom theory behind-the-wheel and route training for existing CDL holders and CDL candidates.
- Supervisenew bus operatorsin trainingincluding training work assignment performance managementand progressive corrective action up to including termination of employment.
- Responsible for interviewing andhiringnew bus operators.
- Able tooperateand teachcorrectoperation on each type of bus on site.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
