The Sterile Processing Technician II ensures safe accurate processing and availability of surgical instruments and supplies to support high-quality patient care. This role collaborates closely with Surgery OB ED and other departments.
Shift hours would be Mon-Fri 12:00pm-8:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Decontaminate assemble inspect sterilize and store surgical instruments and equipment
- Prepare instrument trays case carts crash carts procedure kits and drape packs
- Perform and document sterilization monitoring (biological and chemical testing)
- Identify instruments needing repair sharpening or replacement
- Maintain inventory par levels and supply rotation; remove outdated or damaged items
- Support operating rooms during procedures as needed
- Utilize department systems (e.g. Lawson SPM Omnicell); serve as Super User for at least one system
- Follow all safety regulatory and infection control standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- CRCST or CBSPD certification required
- Basic computer and intermediate Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail customer service skills and ability to perform physical work
