About Your Role

Scope has a new and exciting opportunity for a Key Word Sign Australia Lead within our Strategy & Impact Division.

Key Word Sign Australia (KWSA) is the national peak body for Key Word Sign in Australia and operates as a specialist business unit of Scope supported through Scopes Communication Inclusion Resource Centre (CIRC). KWSA has a long-standing history as the recognised national authority for Key Word Sign and has built strong credibility and recognition across the disability education health and community sectors. Its authority extends well beyond direct service delivery to include national stewardship sector leadership presenter development and the custodianship of Key Word Sign principles resources and training

This is a very unique and exciting role where you will be heavily involved in strengthening KWSAs national identity authority and reputation while providing oversight of operations to ensure KWSA remains sustainable credible and responsive to the KSW Community.

Your Key Focus

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for KWSA
  • Support presenter development in a mentoring and professional capacity
  • Provide national leadership and stewardship of KWSA
  • Develop review and deliver training packages including presenter training
  • Implement communication strategies to keep presenters informed of updates to training and practice guidance

What We Look For

  • Deep understanding and demonstrated fluency in the use of Key Word Sign
  • Strong experience leading coaching training and/ or developing others
  • Proven experience in the disability sector and/ or community sector
  • Extensive experience rapidly developing stakeholder networks to deliver outcomes
  • Understanding and working knowledge of relevant Federal and State government policies and legislation
