Job Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Worker/Building Maintenance Worker (Canada Summer Job) will play a crucial role inmaintaininga clean safe and efficient environment for the organizations staff volunteersclientsand visitors. Thissummerstudent positionprovidesan excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in facilities management within a non-profit setting. The role includes a combination of routine maintenanceandcleaning dutiestoensure that the physical environment supports the organizations mission and day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will develop professional and technical skillsand will:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assistin performinggeneralfacility maintenance tasks includingminor repair work maintenance ofequipment installationsand performingpreventive inspection of systems relating to building mechanicsto ensurethat all equipment is in good working order.
- Perform general cleaning tasks tomaintaina clean and safe environment including cleaningcommon areas offices restrooms andmaintainingsupply levels for cleaning products and equipment.
- Assistwith moving furniture setting up rooms for events or meetings and organizing spaces to support organizational activities.
- Work closely with the Facilities team as well as other departments to meet operational needs and support a positive collaborative work environment.
- Contribute to the organizations mission bymaintaininga welcoming and functional space that enhances the services provided to the community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Strong interest in facilities management building maintenance and working in a non-profit environment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and moving as well as general cleaning and maintenance.
- Basic technical knowledge or willingness to learn about maintenance practices including plumbing electrical systems and repairs.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a flexible and positive attitude.
- Strong communicationskills to interact with staff and fellow team members in a professional respectful manner.
- Previousexperience in a maintenance custodial or facilities-related role is an asset but notrequired.
- A genuine passion for contributing to a mission-driven organization and improving the physical environment in a community-based non-profit.
