The Facilities Maintenance Worker/Building Maintenance Worker (Canada Summer Job) will play a crucial role inmaintaininga clean safe and efficient environment for the organizations staff volunteersclientsand visitors. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assistin performinggeneralfacility maintenance tasks includingminor repair work maintenance ofequipment installationsand performingpreventive inspection of systems relating to building mechanicsto ensurethat all equipment is in good working order.
• Perform general cleaning tasks tomaintaina clean and safe environment including cleaningcommon areas offices restrooms andmaintainingsupply levels for cleaning products and equipment.
• Assistwith moving furniture setting up rooms for events or meetings and organizing spaces to support organizational activities.
• Work closely with the Facilities team as well as other departments to meet operational needs and support a positive collaborative work environment.
• Contribute to the organizations mission bymaintaininga welcoming and functional space that enhances the services provided to the community.
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Strong interest in facilities management building maintenance and working in a non-profit environment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and moving as well as general cleaning and maintenance.
• Basic technical knowledge or willingness to learn about maintenance practices including plumbing electrical systems and repairs.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a flexible and positive attitude.
• Strong communicationskills to interact with staff and fellow team members in a professional respectful manner.
• Previousexperience in a maintenance custodial or facilities-related role is an asset but notrequired.
• A genuine passion for contributing to a mission-driven organization and improving the physical environment in a community-based non-profit.
