Schedule: M-F 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm
Position Summary:
Provide leadership vision planning and advocacy for medical library patient education leisure reading and library services to rural hospitals. Align library services with strategic direction of Rochester Regional Health.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement library services including reference interlibrary loan document provision liaison program publishing support nursing support residency and educational program support rural library services patient education and leisure reading for patients.
Direct library operations: manage facility collections and equipment
Lead the librarys financial planning processes: prepare annual budgets monitor expenditures and negotiate e-resource pricing.
Identify pursue and manage funding opportunities and consortia pricing.
Manage the librarys gift funds and recommend expenditures within fund guidelines
Recruit train and manage Librarians and Library Assistants
Manage all aspects of knowledge-based information resources: selection testing negotiation licensing access promotion instruction and monitor use
Facilitate services to rural hospitals through the NYS Department of Education funded Hospital Library Services Program. Write contracts and service plans manage Circuit Librarians distribute invoices and collect payment.
Manage the librarys website proxy server and discovery tools.
Oversee collection development and facilitate access to electronic resources.
Write and implement policies and procedures
Collect store and utilize data to demonstrate use of library services and resources and plan for future services and resource needs
Participate in Rochester Regional Health leadership programs and initiatives
Represent the library to key stakeholders
Maintain cutting edge services through professional development and involvement in local and national library organizations
Minimum Qualifications:
MLS MSLS or equivalent degree in Library Science or Information Science from an accredited program required.
AHIP credentialing preferred.
5 years of previous Library work experience required
experience with computer networking database searching and budgeting.
Strong analytical computer and communication skills

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience relevant qualifications specialty internal equity location and contracts.
