About the position
La Trobe Universitys Department of Archaeology & History seeks to appoint an excellent candidate with expertise in Palaeolithic Archaeology to a fixed-term Level B Lecturer position. This position has arisen due to a short-term need to coordinate and teach specific subjects in the Archaeology Program in semester two 2026.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to coordinate and teach the following Semester 2 subjects: ARC2PAA (Palaeolithic Archaeology) & ARC5REM (Archaeological Research Methods)
A LevelB teaching-focused academicis expected to develop curriculum coordinate subjects teach and undertake other scholarly and administrative work as relevant to the needs of the Archaeology program.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position you will have:
- PhD degree as appropriate for Archaeology.
- Evidence of capacity to teach ARC2PAA and ARC5REM.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching curriculum development and subject coordination in face-to-face blended and/or online modes as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence.
- Sound analytical skills with an ability to communicate complex information clearly both orally and in writing.
