Health Improvement Officer (12 months secondment) (Internal candidates only)
Job Summary
This position is open to internal candidates only who will be offered a 12 months secondment opportunity. Any applications received from external candidates will not be considered and will be automatically rejected.
- Provide specialist public health support across the children and young peoples portfolio with a focus on mental and emotional wellbeing.
- Play a key role in supporting the Resilient Schools Programme and contributing to the delivery of the Suicide Prevention Strategy and Action Plan.
- Work closely with schools youth services and a wide range of partners to support prevention and early intervention.
- Contribute to needs assessments service reviews and the development of evidencebased proposals and business cases.
- Support the evaluation of programmes and projects to ensure they deliver effective and measurable outcomes.
- Communicate complex public health information clearly to a range of audiences and contribute to reports presentations and workshops.
A Masters degree in a public health related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
Demonstrable experience in public health health improvement or mental and emotional wellbeing relating to children and young people.
Experience of conducting needs assessments service reviews or evaluations and using evidence to inform decision making.
Strong project management and stakeholder management skills including partnership working across organisations.
Good understanding of behaviour change approaches the wider determinants of health and public health data sources.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex information to specialist and non specialist audiences.
