Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Genetic Counselor to provide outpatient counseling services focused on hereditary cancer risk. This role involves working closely with patients and physicians to assess genetic risks interpret test results and provide education and psychosocial support. The Genetic Counselor will serve as a key resource within a collaborative clinical environment.
Responsibilities:
Counsel patients at risk for hereditary cancers
Conduct comprehensive cancer risk assessments
Order and interpret genetic testing
Provide education and guidance to patients and families
Offer psychosocial support related to genetic diagnoses
Act as a consultant/resource for physicians and care teams
Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions
Requirements:
Masters Degree from an accredited genetic counseling training program (approved by the American Board of Genetic Counseling)
Washington State Genetic Counselor License (provisional license accepted to start)
Experience in genetic disorders including cancer risk assessment and test interpretation
Strong communication and patient counseling skills
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience working with patients at risk for hereditary cancer
