French Teaching Role in a Secondary School

A secondary school in Lincoln is seeking to appoint a French Teacher to join its Modern Foreign Languages department from September. This is a full-time role within a school that supports language learning as part of a broad and balanced curriculum.

French is a key subject within the department with students developing communication skills and cultural understanding across different key stages.

About the Role

You will teach French across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 delivering lessons that develop students speaking listening reading and writing skills.

Students will be supported in building vocabulary improving grammar accuracy and developing confidence in communication.

You will prepare students for GCSE French examinations supporting them in developing both written and spoken responses.

Depending on experience there may be opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 teaching.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency in teaching and assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach French across KS3 and KS4

• Deliver lessons focusing on communication and language development

• Prepare students for GCSE French examinations

• Assess student work and provide structured feedback

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

• Contribute to departmental planning and shared resources

• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons

• Support enrichment activities where required
