About the Role

You will prepare students for GCSE Design and Technology supporting them in developing coursework portfolios and practical outcomes.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency in teaching and assessment.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Design and Technology across KS3 and KS4
Deliver practical and theory-based lessons
Support students in developing design and making skills
Prepare students for GCSE Design and Technology assessments
Maintain workshop equipment and ensure safe working practices
Assess student work and provide structured feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to departmental planning and shared resources

Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 effectively
Strong classroom management skills
Good organisational and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching GCSE Design and Technology
Specialism in product design resistant materials or engineering
Experience preparing students for coursework and assessments
