We are seeking a creative and technically adept Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to join a Good secondary school. In this role you will inspire the next generation of designers and engineers bridging the gap between imaginative concepts and functional prototypes.

Core Responsibilities
Instructional Excellence: Teaching Design and Technology across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE) with opportunities to contribute to A-Level or BTEC Tech Awards for suitably qualified candidates.
Technical Mastery: Guiding students through the properties of materials (timbers polymers and metals) and the application of electronic systems and programmable components.
Design Innovation: Leading students through the design processfrom initial sketching and 2D/3D modelling to the final evaluation of a functioning product.
Workshop Safety: Maintaining the highest standards of Health and Safety ensuring all students are proficient and safe in the use of hand tools and heavy machinery.
Sustainability Advocacy: Integrating themes of the circular economy responsible sourcing and design for life into the curriculum to reflect modern environmental challenges.
The Successful Candidate We are looking for a practitioner who is as comfortable with a chisel as they are with a digital design suite. Requirements include:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Design and Technology Product Design or a related Engineering field.
Technical Breadth: Proficiency in a range of material areas and strong skills in CAD software (such as 2D Design Fusion 360 or SolidWorks).
Engagement & Inspiration: The ability to motivate students of all abilities fostering a classroom environment where students feel confident to take creative risks and learn from failure.
Collaborative Spirit: A proactive professional who is eager to share technical expertise and participate in the wider extracurricular life of the schools STEM clubs.
