The Role and Responsibilities
This role is for a teacher who can move seamlessly between analyzing a Shakespearean sonnet and debating complex ethical and theological issues.
Dual-Subject Delivery: Deliver engaging lessons in both English and RE across KS3 and KS4. You will be responsible for helping students master linguistic analysis and critical evaluation of worldviews.
Curriculum Integration: Work within two collaborative departments to share resources and best practices ensuring that your teaching in one subject informs and enriches the other.
Student Progress: Track and support the attainment of students across your timetable using data-driven interventions to ensure every pupil reaches their potential.
Extracurricular Contribution: Actively participate in the wider life of the school potentially supporting debating clubs philosophy societies or literacy initiatives.
Experience and Qualifications
The school welcomes applications from experienced teachers looking for variety and ECTs with a strong background in either English or Philosophy/Theology.
Related Degree: A strong academic background in English Religious Studies Philosophy or a related Humanities discipline.
Qualified Status: QTS or PGCE is essential.
