About the role:

We are looking for a motivated Backend Engineer with a strong interest in AI technologies particularly Large Language Models (LLMs). In this role you will support the development and integration of AI-powered features into our products while building solid backend engineering fundamentals.

You will work closely with experienced engineers to implement backend services contribute to system reliability and help deliver scalable solutions. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to grow their technical skills in both backend development and applied AI.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist in developing backend features and services based on specifications provided by senior or mid-level engineers.
• Integrate AI-powered capabilities into existing systems (e.g. chat completions structured outputs streaming responses tool/function calling).
• Implement and maintain simple APIs backend logic and database queries under guidance.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by performing basic tasks such as updating configurations and running builds.
• Follow established coding standards and best practices to ensure maintainability and reliability.
• Write basic unit tests and participate in automated testing efforts.
• Document code changes and maintain backend system documentation.
• Support bug investigations and resolve straightforward backend issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development infrastructure operations) to ensure proper integration of backend components.
• Continuously learn and apply organizational standards development workflows and backend architectural principles.

Qualifications:

• Solid conceptual understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) including context windows tokenization and prompt design basics.
• Familiarity with integrating AI features into applications (e.g. APIs for AI services streaming responses structured outputs).
• Basic experience with backend development (APIs databases server-side logic).
• Understanding of software development best practices including version control and testing.
• Ability to follow technical guidance and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
