Position Overview:We are seeking a highly adaptable and experienced Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to support multiple inpatient units including Medical-Surgical and Telemetry. This role requires flexibility strong clinical judgment and the ability to provide high-quality care across varying patient populations and acuity levels including overflow support in critical care and emergency settings.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care across multiple units including Medical-Surgical and Telemetry
- Float between assigned units as needed including support for patient overflow in ICU and Emergency Department settings
- Monitor and assess patients including those requiring cardiac telemetry
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and effective patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic medical records
- Adhere to all safety infection control and hospital policies
- Night shift 12-hour shifts
- 72 hours per two-week period
- Holiday coverage may be required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Med-Surg and/or Telemetry nursing
- Experience caring for adult and pediatric patient populations preferred
- Previous float pool experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system (required)
- Strong adaptability and ability to work in fast-paced high-acuity environments
- BLS/BCLS required
- Additional certifications such as ACLS PALS NIHSS CPI TNCC ENPC STABLE and others may be required or preferred depending on assignment
- Must be flexible and comfortable floating across multiple units and departments
