Sr. Chassis Design Engineer

The Product Line Owner (PLO) for Provider Integrations leads the strategy delivery and ongoing management of Ford and Lincolns digital service scheduling platforms FSR and LSR. The role drives cross-functional execution across engineering design operations and provider partners to deliver seamless customer and dealer service experiences.

As a Product Line Owner youre responsible for working with various teams in the identification development execution and ongoing management of Digital Customer & Dealer Experiences as well as external provider integrations. You will have a laser focus on customer dealer and partner integration requirements ensuring the delivery of a best-in-class scheduling and service experience for retail and commercial fleet customers. This role is central to managing a diverse landscape of provider capabilitiesincluding Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and scheduling toolsto provide exceptional experiences across all channels such as Mobile App Web and Fleet Telematics. Working alongside Engineering Design and Operations teams you will utilize your full playbook to drive delivery and ongoing support.

What youll be able to do:

Sr. Chassis Design Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Long Beach California). Note this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the anticipated worksite. Hence the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the anticipated worksite. Design and develop novel brakes steering wheel tire and suspension concepts that improve product cost mass efficiency manufacturability serviceability and driving dynamics. Author and maintain 3D CAD PLM release and validation documentation for a full chassis subsystem. Assess and validate manufacturing assembly and service feasibility of design proposals. Challenge existing design requirements and define new design requirements for system sizing functions and features based on regulations first principles and product attributes. Design analyze build and test prototypes at component subsystem and full vehicle level. Subjectively and objectively evaluate braking steering ride and handling attributes in production vehicles prototype vehicles and simulator.

Youll have...

Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering Automotive Design Engineering Automotive Engineering Technology Materials Engineering Industrial Engineering Aerospace Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation. 5 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. 3D CAD design of automotive components and assemblies using Catia 3DExperience Solidworks Creo or NX. 2. Change Management and release of automotive components and assemblies using the following Product Lifecycle Management Software: Enovia 3DExperience or Arena. 3. Documenting engineering work in Atlassian Jira and Confluence. 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Developing and delivering prototype parts for new automotive products. 2. Tracking documenting and resolving issues with Atlassian tools including Confluence and Jira. 3. Solving cross functional vehicle integration problems for automotive products. 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Applying and interpreting Geometric Design and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods on drawings.

We are offering a salary of$142355.00 - $194560.08/yr.
