Principal Responsibilities:

• Oversee proposal development and project execution of major capital projects for Messer LLC.

• Manage all project activities throughoutprojectcycle; responsible for managing larger and more complex projects. -In addition responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of up to 2full timeproject engineers plus 2 to 3 contract project managers.

• Manage project activitiesincluding:coordination of basic and detailed engineering and design development and maintenance of project schedules and budgets prepare monthly status reports provide oversight of construction and commissioning activities coordinate Operator training and ensure technical and administrative closeout of all project issues.

• Manage the outsource of discipline engineering.

• At the direction of the Department Head develop standards and procedures to increase department productivity

• Provide business with capital estimates with theappropriate levelof accuracy for proposedprojectsespecially in the upfront stages where GOM order estimates arerequiredtodeterminego/no go decisions in the project feasibility phase.

• Interface with Business Development Product Management Production ReliabilityDistributionand all other Messer functions to develop and implement capital projects.

• Develop an effective Project Definition & Execution Strategy (PDES) that enables a high degree of confidence in theprojectscope schedule and budget.

• Qualify vendors negotiate vendorpricingand bidding in conjunction with Procurement.

• Execute the project safelyto specification on time and on budget tracking costs to providetimelyupdates on spendrelativeto budget managing vendors and contractors and trackingscheduleto complete on time.

• Provide a quality project while minimizing unbudgeted change orders.

• Manageinterfacewith regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with adopted environmental life safety and technical code references.

• Organize required internal activities such as safety reviewsHazopsMOCsand punch lists.

• Ensure that all internal standards and procedures are followed as well as relevant codes and applicable regulations.

• Maintain effective communication of progress and issues with formal monthly reports on material variances to scope schedule or budget or substantial usage ofcontingencyespecially prior to the construction phase.

• Deliver complete project documentation at project conclusion.

• Act astechnicalresource to plants to develop problem solutions or needed improvements.

• Participate in interdepartmental initiatives.

• Delivery of a safe quality project on schedule and within budget

• Effective communication with all Messer affected departments.

• Agreement by plant management thatobjectivesare met all documentation delivered and all punch list items resolved/agreed.

• Accountable for constructionsiteand the management of theappropriate siteresources (safety construction commissioning production reliabilityetc)

Required Skills:

Functional Skills:

• Knowledge of codes and regulations as they pertain to industrial gas particularly B31.1 NEC building codespermittingexperience.

• 2Expertat field phases managing field construction check out commissioning and performance testing and punch list closure.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in chemical Mechanical Electrical or other relevant discipline.

• 15 years experience in the implementation of capitalproject ideally in the Industrial Gas or Chemical Process industrieswithdemonstratedability to develop a complicated technical scope schedule and budget and consistently deliver to it.

The salary range for this position is $135000 - $180000. Messer provides medical dental vision short term disability life insurance and paid time off as well as other voluntary benefits such as long term disability in accordance with the terms and conditions of these Plans. Employees are eligible to enroll in Messers 401(k) Plan. Employees may be eligible to participate in the companys bonus program.
