- is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
- is a Canadian Citizen permanent resident or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act S.C. 2001 c. 27*; and
- is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
*International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
Empowerment Squared is looking for:
- 4 Summer Program Facilitators
- Whose main focus will be facilitating a variety of summer programs at Empowerment Squared. Reporting to the Director Programs you will work alongside Empowerment Squared team members coaches and trained volunteers to lead group activities support mentorship efforts and perform various administrative tasks. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with children and youth of diverse communities between the grades of 1 - 12 and open to facilitating a wide variety of programs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the successful execution and facilitation of programs as directed.
- Data entry and other administrative tasks.
- Support high school summer students
- Foster a safe and welcoming environment for all participants volunteers and colleagues
- Welcome and engage participants and volunteers in a leadership capacity.
- Provide feedback and report observations to the Program Lead.
- Escalate key issues/risks to Director Program in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Must commit to one of two schedules (click here for schedule) and indicate on application for the duration of the role
- Hours vary based on program needs: 7-8 hours daily between 8:30 am - 7:30 pm for a total of 31 hours per week.
- This is an in-person position and you are required to work at the Empowerment Squared offices in Hamilton Ontario and/ or in the community as well as on occasional evenings to accommodate program schedules. Travel may be required to attend meetings conferences and program events. All necessary precautions would be taken in accordance with health & safety guidelines.

- Commitment to fostering a positive inclusive anti-racist and supportive environment.
- Must complete a vulnerable sector check prior to the start of the program (if over 18 yrs. old).
- CPR certification is a strong asset.
- Verbal proficiency in Arabic French Pashto Urdu and/or Spanish is an asset.
- Access to reliable transportation

Compensation
$18.60 per hour
