Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a DAS Field Engineer to support a fastgrowing InBuilding Wireless Solutions (IWS) team in the MidAtlantic region. This role is responsible for commissioning integration optimization troubleshooting and maintenance of Public Safety and Wireless Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) across commercial and missioncritical environments.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct onsite benchmark testing and postprocessing analysis
- Perform Wireless Service Provider call testing and Public Safety radio testing
- Commission integrate and optimize passive and active DAS installations
- Perform routine and annual preventive maintenance inspections
- Troubleshoot DAS alarms customer complaints and coverage or signalquality issues
- Evaluate system performance and prepare technical reports
- Support maintenance contract customers including participation in oncall rotation
- Coordinate activities with wireless carriers AHJs customers and internal teams
- Complete work orders service tickets and warranty documentation accurately and on time
- Stay current with InBuilding Solutions technologies and emerging wireless standards
- Participate in required technical safety and process training
- Maintain strong technical aptitude with a continuous learning mindset
- Work independently in the field and collaboratively within a team environment
- Interpret and work from electrical and mechanical diagrams
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of handson experience in Public Safety and Wireless DAS commissioning integration and optimization
- Intermediatelevel troubleshooting expertise with InBuilding Systems
- Intermediate proficiency with field engineering tools including
- Spectrum Analyzer
- CW Generator
- PCTEL (or equivalent) data collection scanners
- OTDR
- UE handset testing
- Fluke cable tester
- Working knowledge of:
- Mobile technology standards
- RF propagation fundamentals
- Antenna theory
- BiDirectional Amplifier (BDA) theory
- Link budget analysis
- Passive and active DAS architectures
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to pass background checks drug screenings and obtain required security clearances
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- DAS OEM certifications (e.g. JMA Comba Fiplex ADRF CommScope Corning or similar)
- Strong adherence to jobsite safety rules and regulatory requirements (OSHA CE customer standards)
- Ability to maintain a safe organized work area and accurate inventory of tools and test equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Customerfocused mindset with the ability to work crossfunctionally
- Reliable team player who collaborates effectively with peers and stakeholders
