POSITION SUMMARYThe Accounting & Finance Intern is responsible for supporting the Accounting Department with reconciliations financial analysis and month-end close activities under supervision. This internship provides structured training professional development and exposure to core financial operations of multiple ambulatory surgery center facilities. The role reports to the Senior Accountant or Manager Facility FUNCTIONSAssist in preparation of journal entries under staff guidancePerform reconciliations for assigned accounts including cash prepaid assets and fixed assetsSupport monthly expense review and basic variance explanationsContribute to P&L and budget-to-actual analysisAssist in preparing financial reporting packagesParticipate in documentation of policies procedures and process improvement projectsSupport other departments on finance-related requests as assignedEngage in training mentorship and professional development activitiesAd hoc/impromptu projectsAbility to multitask collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office all functions according to established policies procedures regulatory and accreditation requirements as well as applicable professional standards. May be required to lift up to 20 pounds. Requires significant use of personal computer phone and general office equipment. Needs adequate visual acuity ability to grasp and handle objects.
