  • To achieve its ambitious strategy Randstad is moving to a globally harmonized future state operating model. Standardization of tools and processes will support and drive this (digital) transformation. As part of this transformation we are migrating from scattered local legacy systems to a set ofstate-of-the-art core systems which include our app websites front- mid- and back-office.

  • This team works on the engine of the mid-office process; the employment conditions & rate bundles that are the link to payroll of our talents and billing to our clients. This team is in the functional domain of order employment conditions and assignments.

  • You come from a background where you managed mid office processes and know why it is crucial for a correct administration. You are knowledgeable on staffing rules & regulations and the way we pay our talents and bill our clients.

  • You are strong at working in a fast paced dynamic with many dependencies and a variety of stakeholders. You can understand complex local requirements but are also able to provide a helicopter view of how this can be fitted into our global product.

  • The product owner Employment Conditions & Rates is a key member of the product owner team and is a business and customer proxy responsible for working with Product Management and other stakeholdersincluding other POs and PMsto define and prioritize stories in the team backlog and to streamline priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components for the team. This allows the team to effectively address the priorities of the roadmap initiatives.

your typical day includes

  • A typical day for the Product Owner Employment Conditions & Rates involves both strategic oversight and hands-on execution. You are a key participant in all team ceremoniesincluding daily stand-ups backlog grooming sprint planning sprint review/demo and retrospectiveand act as a solution technology and team-facing resource. A core focus is contributing to the vision and program backlog. You align with the Product Manager on the greater strategy and vision using your experience and business knowledge to interpret and augment features and frequently generating your own ideas. You own the team backlog and implementation establishing the sequence of backlog items based on program priorities and dependencies with other terms of execution you define iterations and stories establish story acceptance criteria and accept iteration increments and stories into the baseline. Crucially you protect the product team from work that is not focused on valuable aligned outcomes. Finally you collaborate with the UI/UX team product team and product leaders to establish timeline workflows and goals and you educate the team on the market competitors and customer needs.

your background

You have been working in an operational role in the staffing industry and are looking for a your operational role youve always used data as a basis for your decision-making. You have managed people and projects. Or you might come from an IT background and have experience as a Product Owner.

Your team members peers and stakeholders are spread across countries and time zones. Thats why were looking for someone who thrives in a diverse cultural environment and has a demonstrated flexibility in communication skills to be successful in the international context of this role.

key capabilities

  • Experience with Salesforce JIRA & Confluence knowledge or similar product management tools

  • working knowledge of product development

  • a good basic understanding of data architecture principles and components

  • proficiency in the use of analytic tools

  • ability to prioritize effectively

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills (at least in English)

  • ability to work with large teams in a matrix environment

  • understanding of design quality standards

key relationships

  • You collaborate closely with the other mid office POs on where how and when to display your features for the best user experience and also work closely with the Implementation Manager on gathering the right input for each new country or opco.

  • You work with your BA team lead and development team(s) to translate epics into sprints arriving at clear definitions of done to optimize development time. Next to that you play an important role in your peer group of product owners. Aligning dependencies and joint feature requests. A very important group are your global stakeholders they help you define requirements and set priorities. Finally you act as a representative of your products towards our 39 markets across the globe.
