About the RoleThe credit research associate will work with two senior analysts covering the metals & mining REIT and airline sectors across investment grade and leveraged finance as well as independent power producers in leveraged finance. About the TeamThe Loomis Sayles credit research team prides itself in providing independent views and forward-looking assessments of credit risk and potential investment opportunities. The team thinks beyond rating agencies when performing research and values unique ideas and perspectives. Research coverage spans the broad credit spectrum across investment grade high yield and bank loans in developed and emerging markets. Credit recommendations combine rigorous bottom-up fundamental analysis structural risk assessment and relative value-based insights. Credit research analysts are integrated into sector teams that offer market and research insight through the collaboration of portfolio managers strategists analysts and traders. Job ResponsibilitiesContribute to fundamental industry and company credit analysis as part of a collaborative team led by a senior analystBuild and maintain financial modelsCompile and analyze industry and company data using Excel PowerPoint and internal applications. Create and maintain foundational infrastructure instrumental in conducting fundamental credit researchinclusive of Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) factorsContribute to new issue reviews detailed credit updates in-depth sector reviews and other research memos and presentation materialsIdentify credit risk factors and have an understanding of financial marketsDevelop skills in assessing relative valuationQualifications & Education RequirementsBachelors degree with experience in an analytical discipline such as accounting finance business economics or mathematics0-3 years of relevant experienceBasic accounting skills with a solid understanding of financial statements and detailed model buildingStrong Excel skills and experience using BloombergStrong interest in financial analysis research and the ability to source new information and offer insightsQuick learner who is organized and able to manage multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment Solid writing and developing presentation skills Excels in a team environment proactive collaborative and collegial Positive attitude takes direction well and embraces Sayles is committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The salary range for this position is $70000-$100000 USD. Your starting salary will be based on your experience skills qualifications and local benchmarking. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award which is based on individual and company addition to your compensation you will have access to a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health well-being and financial security.
