Job Summary
Bring your energy to Aggreko as a Mechanical Engineer based in Dumbarton. In this role youll support the design development and ongoing improvement of mechanical systems across Aggrekos manufactured product range helping deliver reliable efficient solutions for customers worldwide.

What youll do as Mechanical Engineer:
- Support the design development integration and validation of mechanical systems across new and existing products
- Create technical specifications functional design documentation and test procedures
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials and part specifications to support efficient manufacturing and assembly
- Provide mechanical engineering support to manufacturing operations and technical investigations
- Contribute to RCA activities with OEMs and support resolution of quality issues
- Ensure designs meet requirements across performance reliability maintainability and cost of ownership
- Support continuous improvement of existing products and adapt designs for new applications and markets
- Collaborate with suppliers on component selection and lifecycle support
- Promote strong HSE performance through safe compliant design and risk assessment
You are:
- A motivated Mechanical Engineer with experience in equipment or systems design
- Strong in mechanical design principles including analysis (thermal stress vibration flow and noise)
- Proficient in CAD tools (Creo/ProE or AutoCAD desirable)
- Familiar with PLM (Enovia/Windchill) MRP (M3) and engineering change processes
- Able to interpret requirements and produce fabrication assembly drawings and detailed specifications
- A collaborative team player with strong communication and organisational skills
- Adaptable resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced changing environment
Youll bring:
- Experience in mechanical systems design and component selection
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and engineering best practice
- Exposure to powertrain systems (engines alternators couplings AVMs mounting frames) and associated calculations
- Understanding of cooling systems including performance across different environmental conditions
- Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on right-first-time zero-defect delivery
