SSI is seeking a Telemetry Tracking Control & Satellite Control SME for a role in Colorado Springs CO.
The qualified applicant will support the Customer with various lines of effort to include but not limited to modeling constructive simulation prototyping data analytics and visualizations visual storytelling and human-in-the-loop analytic efforts. Specifically the applicant will serve as a subject matter expert on space and ground data networks satellite control and telemetry tracking and commanding (TT&C) architectures and the associated requirements of satellite architectures. The applicant will work with the Customer program offices IC partners and the rest of the USSF to gather information to model and represent capabilities required for analytic efforts.
Role and Responsibilities include:
- Support and facilitate analytic efforts testing and improving software for cognitive assessment and constructive analysis.
- Evaluate modify and test models in SPySE and other software tools.
- Collaborate with fellow industry Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver the best-informed models.
- Improve user interfaces for operators and communicate TT&C and satellite control requirements to inform satellite tasking.
- Take results from analytic efforts and create written and presentation products.
- Build products using Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have at least nine (9) years of overall technical experience.
- 5 years of experience in space and ground data networks satellite control and TT&C.
- Experience in/background in orbital mechanics and space control.
- Ability to use modeling and simulation to analyze and inform force design metrics.
- Familiarity with the use of native Clouds solutions such as Azure etc.
- Ability to self-identify and execute work tasks.
- Demonstrate the ability to apply analytic problem-solving skills to operational and strategic level problems accurately translate technical information for leadership and establish partnering relationships and coordinate across external organizations.
- Education: Bachelors degree minimum advanced degree preferred in space-relevant engineering or science field (e.g. Aerospace Mechanical Electrical Materials Communications Physics etc.).
- Active TS clearance with in-scope T5/SSBI is required along with SCI eligibility and participation in Continuous Evaluation. Must have a CI Poly.
- Must meet all requirements for SCI and SAP/SAR access and be willing to undergo a polygraph examination.
- Travel is 10%.
$180000 - $220000 a year
Target salary range: $180000 - $220000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range and bonus potential for this position based on experience and other factors.
