Job Summary
Overview
Summary/Objective
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the full lifecycle execution of instrumentation and electrical (I&E) projects within petrochemical refining and industrial facilities. This role oversees multiple projects and field teams ensuring safe on-time and on-budget delivery while maintaining the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.
The PM serves as the primary leader responsible for field execution labor productivity cost control and client coordination across all assigned projects.

Project Execution & Leadership
- Lead day-to-day execution of multiple I&E projects including greenfield brownfield and turnaround work
- Directly manage Superintendents Foremen and field crews to drive safe and efficient execution
- Own project schedule productivity and cost performance from kickoff through closeout
- Identify and mitigate risks related to working in active/operating facilities
Technical Oversight (I&E Specific)
- Oversee installation calibration and commissioning of instrumentation systems
- Manage electrical scope including: Low and medium voltage systems MCCs VFDs cable tray and power distribution
- Ensure proper execution of: Loop checks point-to-point verification and system startups
- Interface with client systems including PLC & DCS
- Ensure compliance with hazardous area classifications and NEC
Commercial & Project Controls
- Manage project budgets forecasts and cost tracking with a focus on labor productivity
- Develop and manage change orders RFIs and scope revisions
- Support estimating and pre-construction efforts for new and existing clients
- Ensure accurate reporting of project status to Operations and executive leadership
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture aligned with OSHA NFPA 70/70E and client-specific requirements
- Enforce LOTO energized work protocols and safe work practices
- Lead safety meetings and ensure compliance across all field activities
- Maintain strict adherence to all company and client safety procedures
Client & Team Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients subcontractors and internal teams
- Act as the primary point of contact for project related communication
- Participate in client meetings planning sessions and progress reviews
- Assist in recruiting mentoring and developing field personnel
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will have some supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
This job operates in a petrochechemical / refinery environment. Exposure to cold working conditions during winter months and hot working conditions during the summer months; exposure to noise workers must wear protecting hearing equipment or frequently shout in order to be heard above ambient noise an emergency situation exposure to hazardous chemicals may occur and the use of a respirator is required. All employees are required to be fit tested for the various respirators used as well as the ability to successfully pass a pulmonary function test (PFT).

While performing the duties of the job the position of an Analyzer Technician III may be extremely physical at times. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required and for long periods of time to bend stoop walk climb squat reach kneel push/pull stand sit hand strength and dexterity. An Analyzer Technician III will frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Must be able to work at heights and be able to climb ladders and stairways and work off platforms.
Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work
Typical days and hours of work are variable/ project dependent. Over-time work is common and may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Extensive travel required across the United States including extended stays at project sites.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- 7 years of experience in industrial construction with a focus on instrumentation and electrical (I&E)
- 5 years in project management or supervisory role
- Proven experience managing projects in oil & gas petrochemical refining or heavy industrial environments
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems instrumentation systems and start up and commissioning processes
- Experience working in live facilities turnarounds or shutdown environments
- Valid drivers license with clean MVR
Preferred Education and Experience
- 10 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar I&E projects
- Experience and knowledge of NEC
- Electrical/Instrumentation license and/or certifications
- PMP Certification
