Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY
The Area Director of Operations is a key member of the CALA Continent Lodging Service team. This position provides operationalleadershipand consultation for all lodging brands andactsas a business partner to Operational Discipline Leads Area Vice Presidents ExecutiveCommittee Members and other Continentteam members. Primary responsibilitiesinclude driving OperationalExcellenceexecutionof brand& discipline prioritiesand technical& business expertise for operations.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
- Provide consultation& support to the operations functions (Food & Beverage Event Management Spa Retail Golf Rooms & Related services)inthe continent promotingorganizational alignment to the brand discipline and business priorities.
- Actas the strategic business partner to the Operations stakeholders and provides technical and business expertiseto assistproperties in achieving optimum performance inthe balanced scorecardgoals includingrevenuegeneration.
- Partner with GO and CLS Discipline Leadsto support work processes that drive innovationenhance brand differentiationand speed to market.
- Accountablefor aligning Operations associates on the vision and mission of providingsuperior guest experiences inalignment with branddifferentiators.
- Identifybusiness opportunities or risks by keeping abreastof industrycompetitor economic and internal trends.
- Partnering with CLS Rooms be responsible for driving the Loyalty Mindset within the Area Team and Property Level.
- Developprocesses to enhance communicationand sharing of best practices across the continent.
- Actsas the CALA / Americas subject matter expertregarding deliveryof superior guest servicesand versedontotal HotelOperationsBrand Standards andMIs QualityAssuranceprocess and program.
- Promote andsell ideas persuasivelyto properties for stimulating businessopportunitiesimproving serviceandincreasingprofitability.
- Coordinate newhotel openingsupport to include market research concept development space plan reviews talentselection and task force needs. Involved asneededintheDAP Process for Tier B&C Hotels.
- Actsas the subject matter expert for designatedoperationsdisciplinein additionto the generalist supportfunction.
- Monitor GSS Financial resultsandappropriate metricsto identifyandmanagebusiness and financial risks.
- Ensures consistentexecution& pull throughofenterprise wide Initiatives ProductsPrograms and Services.
- Identifyopportunitiesto improvedproduct qualityservice deliveryand financial performance.
- Partner with Engineering to Drive Maintenance and Upkeep of Hotel and Hotel Product.
- Partner with Global Operations to Drive Brand Standard content and execution
- Ensurea communicationfeedback loopis inplace to share ideas concerns and executionissues fromthe markettoGOS.
- Maintain closeand productive working relationships with the AVPto resolve hotel operational issues andparticipatein propertyvisitsas needed.
- Respond to and resolves operational requests from keystakeholders.
- Coordinatethe executionof disciplinespecifictrainingclasses.
- Liaise with CLS to ensure programs dedicated to Customer Satisfaction such as Operations Summit come alive in the hotel culture.
- Involvedin Recruitment effortsto attract develop and retain toptalentfor participantinthedevelopmentof aglobalpipeline of talent for Operations.
- Assist as needed with MSB and OFR Operations executionof Brand Standards Products Programsand Services.
- Assist in any additional program or initiative where need be.
REQUIRED:
- 10years of progressivelyresponsible workexperienceinhotel industry leading operations propertymultiunit experiencepreferred. (e.g. combinedexperience to include food & beverage spa and retailservicesroomsoperations event management qualityassuranceand prior strategic leadershiproles or GM assignments.).
- Must possess outstandingknowledge ofthe core principles of HotelOperations.(Rooms and Food & Beverage)
- Strong Food& Beverage experience preferred
- Strong Experience in the All Inclusive Hotel segment preferred.
- Abilityto operate in a matrixorganization.
- Possessexcellent project managementskills and ability to independentlymanagemultiple projects and competingpriorities.
- Track record of putting in place strongsystemsand processes to effectively implement and execute multiple programs
- Must have strong knowledge in areas related to all food & beverage operationsevent management rooms operationsSOPs and P&Lbudgeting.
- Mustbe a selfstarter who can work independentlyandbea strongteamplayer that contributestotheeffectivenessof thebroaderMI team.
- Proven success prioritizing and managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Possess strong oral and written communicationskillsexcellent interpersonal skills;ableto collaborateeffectivelywithGeneral Managers Executive Committee Members and Key Stakeholders Abilityto positivelyinfluences without directauthority.
- Abilityto manage ina culturallydiverse work environment and is a championfor diversityeffectiveness in the organization.
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONALCERTIFICATION:
Bachelors Degree required.
