Overview

In Business since 1919 and still growing Arrow is a leader in bulk commodity hauling reload operations freight management logistics consulting and technology with operations throughout Canada and the U.S.

We are looking for a General Labourer to join us and become part of our Vancouver Reload team in Surrey BC!


Arrows Vancouver Reloadspecializesin thetransloadingof commodities (steel lumber liquid bulk dry bulk etc..)from truck/railcar to railcar/ truck and/or containers.
The General Labourer willassistwith yard maintenance cleaning of equipment cutting steel banding for packagesecurement monitoring disposal of items and general yard clean up and mayassistwith railcarsecurement.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all workplace safety policies and compliance regulationsparticipateinidentifyinghazards
  • Comply withall rules and regulationsprotocolsand established metrics
  • Establish or adjust daily tasks/schedules to meet changing order priorities
  • Maintenance of fleet equipmente.g.washand paintequipment
  • Follow maintenance testing and repairs procedures of products
  • Keep yard and equipment neat and organized
  • May be asked to travel to othertransloadterminals toassistif necessary
  • Provide internal and external Customer Service excellence
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency ofyardshop department or work crew
  • Ability to understand cross training on all functions at facility
  • Other duties as assigned bysupervisor/manager

You Possess

  • Strong safety mindset with a qualityfocused approach and attention to detail
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (snow rain heat wind subfreezing temperatures)
  • Good physical condition including the ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs and swing a 10 lb sledgehammer
  • Ability to work independently follow a daily work schedule and complete assigned tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience not required
  • Experience working with computers (asset)
  • Responsible accountable dependable and reliable
  • Strong work ethic with a positive teamfocused attitude
  • Flexible with solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment
