Position Title: Sterile Processing Technician (Travel Assignment)
Location: Columbia Missouri
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule:
Evening Shift 5x8 Hours (11:00 AM 7:30 PM)
Rotating Weekends (Every 3rd Week)
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for a 13-week travel assignment at a leading healthcare facility. This role is essential in supporting surgical and clinical operations by ensuring proper decontamination sterilization and distribution of medical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Assemble instrument trays sets and supplies based on surgical schedules and priority needs
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness functionality and proper assembly
- Operate and troubleshoot steam sterilizers and related processing equipment
- Maintain accurate sterilization records and logs in compliance with regulatory standards
- Adhere to infection control safety and compliance guidelines
- Manage inventory of sterile and non-sterile supplies
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or processing issues
- Follow manufacturer instructions and industry best practices for instrument processing
- Ensure timely distribution of sterile supplies to operating rooms and other departments
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing experience required
- Prior travel experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control standards
- Experience with steam sterilization equipment
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
