SHIFT:

  • Full time 40hrs a week.

Unit Description:

The Sentara Princess Anne Hospital provides exceptional emergency care to patients 24 hours a day seven days a week with expert staff cutting-edge technology and specialty services including:

  • Board-certified emergency physicians
  • Emergency nurses certified in advanced cardiac life support trauma and pediatric certifications
  • Pediatric-trained team to treat children of all ages
  • Overnight observation rooms for children and a separate family-friendly waiting area
  • Seamless connection to easily accessible radiology department
  • Landing pad for Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance to ensure quicker treatment in emergency

Job Description:

The Supervisor Nursing and Patient Care Services in a hospital setting plays a key leadership role in the nursing department supporting the manager in overseeing all patient care activity on their assigned nursing unit(s). They are responsible for ensuring high standards of care coordinating daily nursing activities and facilitating communication between medical teams. Assists with the training mentoring and performance evaluations of clinical staff. They also manage patient care assignments help resolve patient and family concerns and ensure compliance with hospital policies protocols and safety regulations. Additionally they assist in staffing decisions maintain inventory for medical supplies and ensure that the unit is properly equipped to provide quality care.

Education

  • BSN required MSN preferred

Certification/Licensure

  • RN Licensure in VA or compact state in good standing

Experience

  • 2yrs Nursing experience required
  • 1yr nursing leadership experience required (UC or similar)
  • must have recent experience in the ED.
  • this role will focus on quality and regulator duties investigations auditing follow up.
