Job Summary
Operate computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal work pieces.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Change punching tools and dies as required.5%
Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments templates and fixtures. 10%
Remove and replace dull cutting tools. 5%
Mount install align and secure tools attachments fixtures and work pieces on machines using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.5%
Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.10%
Adjust machine feed and speed change cutting tools or adjust machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if machines malfunction.10%
Stop machines to remove finished work pieces or to change tooling setup or work piece placement according to required machining sequences.20%
Lift work pieces to machines manually or with hoists or cranes.10%
Modify cutting programs to account for problems encountered during operation and save modified programs.5%
Insert control instructions into machine control units to start operation.15%
Other assigned tasks at direction of Supervision.5%

Education and Experience Profile
High school diploma or GED and/or equivalent industrial experience.

Required Skills
Ability to read technical manuals blueprints drawings.
Problem solving skills and strong mechanical aptitude
Attention to detail and follow up skills
Ability to work well with limited supervision
