Job Overview
Under the direction of an RN or LPN the PCA assists with individualized patient care to help patients achieve their highest level of wellness. This role is an essential member of the care team performing both clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
Training Program
No experience No problem!
Mercy provides a 175-hour Department of Health and Senior Servicesapproved training program completed during new hire orientation (must be finished within 90 days).
Our PCA training is also an accredited Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program offering valuable hands-on experience and credentials.
Requirements:
BLS certification within 1 month of hire
PCA competencies completed within 3 months
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or G.E.D
CNA/CPTC or
Enrolled in a healthcare career program (including high school programs)
Mercy co-workers encouraged to apply
Experience: None required
Preferred Certification:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift push or pull up to 50 lbs regularly
Prolonged standing and walking
Ability to bend kneel reach twist grip and squat
