Senior Payroll Specialist

Job Summary
Job Brief:
This role is responsible for day-to-day processing of assigned payroll activities for the ANZ region. The role will also further support other members of the team by providing process guidance and leverage on expertise to solve complex process issues in compliance with relevant local regulations policies procedures and methodologies support with the necessary audit requirements.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Perform simple to complicated payroll activities in compliance with established procedures strategies and methodologies.
Monitor and track compliance of operational aspects of payroll processing and associated activities including salary disbursement overpayment recovery leave management and reporting are accurate and delivered within appropriate timeframes and comply with relevant legislation.
Perform taxation legislative and statutory obligations effective processing and preparation of returns documents management and maintenance of key processes.
Monitor and Track up-to-date processes and compliance with legislative award and other region-specific changes for accurate payroll processing.
Monitor and perform regular checks on payroll files and records including regular filing of correspondence and forms liaison with staff in relation to any payroll matters or queries relating to employee entitlements liaison with management and the HR office in relation to appointment and termination of employees leave entitlements and other payroll matters.
Reviewing the changes/updates and responsible in creating new SOP/DTP
Support in the preparation of multiple reports and provide complex analysis insights and recommendations.
Assist on assigned issues and collate documentation in support of investigating and resolving complicated issues in support of Team Lead/Manager.
Support in the development and process improvement initiatives to streamline processes improve customer experience and increase productivity.
Propose alternatives in identified issues and assist in investigating and in resolving common and unusual issues.
Contribute to various and simultaneous process improvement initiatives to streamline processes improve customer experience and increase productivity.
Participate in data gathering compilation and checking of documents for SOX audit-related activities.
Liaise with onshore Payroll Support Teams as appropriate
-Keeping knowledge of legislation that affects the payroll up to date by research and subscriptions as well as attendance at various workshops and training seminars
Monitor and respond to Employee Centre support simple to complex requests related to Payroll Services
Contribute as subject matter expert by applying technical expertise in the overall payroll process.
Support junior members of the team regarding query resolutions for unique cases and process exceptions
Participate on data gathering assigned SOX audit-related activities.
Review and Reconcile Statutory reporting and reconciliation Annual Filing and YE activities.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree or at least 5 years of relevant work experience to Payroll
- Must have experience in processing ANZ region payroll exposure to end-to-end payroll processing is preferred
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office tools
- Basic knowledge and understanding of HR processes and procedures
- Must have experience in a high-volume/high-headcount payroll processing
- Experience in using Empower/ Easy Pay ADP Global view Celegro and Workday or other Payroll Systems
- Experience in Oracle System is a plus
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
