Pay:$165 per hour.
Sign-on bonus:$8000.

LOCATION: VA Medical Center LomaLindaCA
SCHEDULE:Normal working hours are defined as 8:00 am to 4:30 pm 40 hours per week Monday through Friday.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be licensed as a MD in any state or territory of the United States.
- Must be board certified/board eligible.
- Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified in accordance with the American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
- Must have completed residency training.
DUTIES: Shall be responsible for but is not limited to:
- Provides a full range of psychiatric services including assessment and treatment of General Psychiatric disorders
- Consults with clinical staff on a wide variety of patient care issues
- Conducts treatment planning and refers to various programs within Mental Health Service and provides return appointments for follow-up
- Uses validated suicide screening tools to assess safety (danger to self others grave disability) and determining need for psychiatric hospitalization. Coordination of patient care with Medical/ED staff and Mental Health Services (including Psychiatric Inpatient Unit)
- Completes consults in a timely manner closes clinical encounters and writes return to clinic orders
- Returns patient phone calls and provides guidance to patients on treatment options.
- Represents the Mental Health Service on facility committees
- Provide training and guidance to General Psychiatry Residents as well as medical students
- Serves as a consultant to staff and trainees and assists in their formulation of the appropriate treatment plan regarding their patients
- Uses VA Video Connect (VVC) for clinical visits when required and supports all staff in completing visits using VVC and other telehealth modalities as well as responding to messages in My HealtheVet
