Switchboard Operator | Nightshift

Job Description:

• Permanent part time 33.25 hours per week

About the Role

You will provide an effective & efficient communications service and information to all Hospital staff external agencies and the general public

• Hospital Switchboard operations Ensure Calls are answered in an appropriate manner and all callers are treated in a polite and courteous manner

• Demonstrate high levels of communication skills appropriate to Switchboard functions

• Operation and management of Hospital Paging system

• Receipt management and coordination of all Emergency Codes

• Provide accurate patient enquiry information

• Collation maintenance and dissemination of information relating to Doctors Medical & After-hours rosters

• Provide accurate information to Hospital staff in relation to on-call staff clinical rosters and directory information

Classifications for this position will range from HS1 - HS17 ($58 442 - $64610 per annum pro rata)

Your Contribution

• Experience in a health service environment is essential

• Demonstrated high level communication and organisational skills

• Strong computer literacy

• Sound typing skills

• Experience in a switchboard setting

• Ability to participate as a member of a team in a dynamic work environment

• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

• Must be self-directing and demonstrate initiative

• A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check or willing to obtain

About the Telecommunications Team

St Vincents Switchboard is located within the Inpatient Services Building at Fitzroy and operates 24 hours 7 days per week. Switchboard Operators manage a nucleus of information for staff patients relatives and external agencies
