Position Overview

The Director of Surgical Services will provide 24/7 leadership and operational oversight for the department ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient-centered care. This individual will play a key role in staff development clinical excellence and day-to-day surgical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mentor and develop surgical services staff including scheduling performance management and ongoing education
• Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient workflow high-quality care and strong patient outcomes
• Monitor and evaluate clinical performance ensuring adherence to physician orders and established care standards
• Develop and implement departmental policies goals and process improvements
• Participate in quality initiatives including infection control case management utilization review and performance improvement
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care and operational efficiency
• Manage departmental budget including staffing and resource allocation
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and hospital standards
• Address and resolve staff and patient concerns in a timely and professional manner

Qualifications

• Current RN license (Texas or compact state)
• Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in surgical services
• Prior leadership or management experience required
• BLS/CPR and ACLS required
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to engage motivate and develop teams
