Rate of Pay: 290.06 - 399.00 per day
Summary:
This role sits within the Estates Strategy & Development team and focuses on managing property transfers and disposals across a large and diverse council estate. The position involves overseeing transactions from initial appraisal through to completion supporting strategic objectives and capital receipt targets while ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation.
Responsibilities:
Manage property transfers and disposals in line with Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972
Oversee the full lifecycle of asset disposals including valuations agent instruction and transaction completion
Support delivery of the Strategic Asset Management Plan
Undertake options appraisals feasibility studies and viability assessments
Develop business cases aligned with council priorities
Qualifications:
Degree (or equivalent) in Estate Management Real Estate or a related field
MRICS or Associate membership (desirable)
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience in estate management particularly property disposals and asset transfers
Strong understanding of property legislation and compliance requirements
Ability to manage complex transactions independently
Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and use initiative
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Willingness to travel across Somerset and attend office 2 days per week
