Job Responsibilities:

As the Line Boring Technician you will be performing portable line boring welding and grinding duties for rebuilds and repairs on Caterpillar Equipment in both the shop and field.

• Maintain Caterpillar Construction Equipment Mining Equipment and Expanded Mining Equipment in a field environment
• Set up operate line boring equipment and measuring tools to complete the weld build up fitting and related tasks
• Component rebuild and repair weld grind re-machine bores some Manufacturing
• Perform routine maintenance work
• Occasional work at heights and confined spaces
• Frequent bending squatting climbing and lifting/pushing of up to 45 pounds without assistance
• Complete technical documentation (service reports warranty crossover notes)

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Welder or Machinist Ticket with Interprovincial Certification
• Valid drivers license (drivers abstract as a condition of offer)
• Proven line boring experience
• Strong welding aptitude: vertical flat and overhead test for both SMAW and FCAW machining experience is beneficial

Important Details

• This position is based out of Cranbrook BC on a 4x3 compressed shift
• Both Shop and Field work will be required
• A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site Access which includes Drug and Alcohol Screening be fit tested and have the ability to wear a respirator
