Under the supervision and direction of the Campus Directors the Special Education Manager will support and train staff implementation of Arizona Autism Charter Schools special education policies and procedures special education compliance and best practices in the writing of individualized education plans.
Candidates must be experienced in the correct design implementation and oversight of research-based educational strategies for students with disabilities ABA teaching strategies and have significant experience conducting these activities within school settings. The candidate must demonstrate excellent leadership skills and the ability to train coach and motivate instructional staff in the classroom. The Special Education Manager will work hand-in-hand with the school leadership to promote a positive school culture that focuses on implementing a best practices education model to achieve optimal results for students on the autism spectrum.
Duties:
- Under the direction of the Campus Director essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Ensure Special Education compliance on the campus by completing transfer reviews providing ongoing training and mentoring special education teachers
- Oversee the Extended School Year (ESY) on the campus
- Organize staff coverage
- Help plan structure
- Send out Google Forms for attendance for students who qualify
- Serve as case manager for students who do not have an assigned classroom case manager (max. 30 students)
- Provide training and coaching to teachers as needed in writing compliant and best-practice IEPs. Support the collection and maintenance of data about student IEP goals
- Coach teachers in IEP progress monitoring
- Manages quarterly progress monitoring and parent communication regarding student IEP goals. Works with the administrative team to ensure that all stakeholders are informed regarding special education programming and compliance
- Serve as District Representative in IEP/MET meetings as assigned
- Serve as Site Testing Coordinator
- Facilitate the annual hearing and vision screening at your site
- Collect analyze and report data in a meaningful manner
- Celebrates the achievements and successes of students.
- Assisting with the onboarding/training of new teachers.
- Other duties as may be assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities
- 3 - 5 years teaching special education
- Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred
- Experience in structured teaching center-based model preferred

- Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification
- Bachelors Degree or higher
- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
