Surgical Technologist Operating Room (Travel Assignment)
Location: Tuba City AZ 86045
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 4x10s 6:30 AM 5:00 PM (Weekdays)
On-Call: Required (nights weekends and holidays)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support operating room procedures across a variety of surgical specialties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise adaptability and the ability to maintain precision in a fast-paced surgical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up operating rooms with sterile instruments equipment and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field
- Perform patient positioning prepping and draping
- Ensure proper sterilization and functionality of surgical instruments and equipment
- Anticipate surgical team needs to support efficient workflow
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques
- Handle and process surgical specimens according to protocol
- Assist with post-procedure room cleanup and turnover
- Participate in on-call rotations including nights weekends and holidays
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons nurses and anesthesia staff
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with facility policies
- Support procedures across multiple specialties including:
- General Surgery
- Orthopedics
- ENT (Otolaryngology)
- Ophthalmology
- OB/GYN
- Podiatry
- Urology
- Provide support for both adult and pediatric surgical cases
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience (required)
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program OR equivalent military/clinical training
- Certification required:
- CST (NBSTSA) OR
- TS-C (NCCT)
- Must obtain certification within required timeframe if not currently certified
- Current BLS (AHA) certification required
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation procedures and sterile techniques
- Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure surgical environment
- Excellent communication teamwork and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and on-call schedules
