Informatica ETL Developer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Informatica ETL Developer to join the Data Integration & Reporting team supporting the development and enhancement of the Operational Data Store (ODS) platform.

This role focuses on designing developing and optimizing robust data pipelines ensuring high data quality scalability and performance across both batch and real-time processing environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional / Technical

• Design develop and maintain ETL workflows using Informatica PowerCenter / IICS for Operational Data Store initiatives.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications (FSD) and technical designs.
• Develop scalable and high-performance data pipelines (batch and real-time).
• Perform data modelling (logical & physical) for ODS and downstream systems.
• Ensure adherence to coding security and performance standards.
• Implement best practices including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI/CD).
• Conduct code reviews unit testing and performance tuning of ETL jobs and SQL queries.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues ensuring system stability and data integrity.
• Collaborate with architects to review and challenge solution designs and drive optimal architecture decisions.
• Maintain proper technical documentation and data lineage.

Data Engineering & Platform

• Build and optimize ETL pipelines using Informatica SQL and Python.
• Work with relational databases (Oracle MySQL Sybase) and large datasets.
• Integrate data across heterogeneous systems (source to ODS to downstream systems).
• Leverage Big Data technologies (Hadoop Spark Hive Presto) where applicable.
• Automate deployment pipelines using Jenkins / GitLab CI.
• Work with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Exposure to Cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP) for modern data architecture.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate closely with business analysts project managers and application teams.
• Engage stakeholders to clarify requirements and provide regular delivery updates.
• Ensure strong communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support UAT and production rollout activities.

Risk & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with internal governance regulatory requirements and data security standards.
• Proactively identify and mitigate delivery risks and issues.
• Uphold high standards of integrity accountability and audit readiness.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Professional Experience

• Minimum 812 years of experience in Data Warehousing and ETL development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Informatica (PowerCenter / IICS).
• Proven experience in Operational Data Store (ODS) or enterprise data platforms.
• Experience working with batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Exposure to Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• Experience leading or contributing to end-to-end delivery of data projects.
