Software Engineer III SAP ABAP

As a Software Engineer SAP ABAP at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology you partner with functional teams to identify and shape AI use cases that improve decision making and SAP S/4HANA performance. You help drive innovation by designing and delivering AI-powered solutions on SAP BTP contributing to the firms business objectives and team culture.

Job responsibilities

• Design and deliver AI-powered solutions on SAP BTP using Joule Skills SAP AI Core and GenAI services to drive productivity.
• Build and orchestrate Agentic AI capabilities that automate and execute complex actions within enterprise SAP processes.
• Lead proof of concept initiatives to validate feasibility impact and scalability of AI solutions in a real business context.
• Define and document an AI adoption framework covering governance data strategy integration and responsible AI practices.
• Ensure enterprise-grade security governance and data privacy compliance.
• Define clean core compliant architectures using SAP BTP extensibility patterns.

Required qualifications capabilities and skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3 years applied experience in AI/ML solution development.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design application development testing and operational stability on SAP BTP or similar enterprise platforms.
• Proficient in coding in Python and/or JavaScript and experience with ML frameworks MLOps practices APIs and secure system integration.
• Experience in developing debugging and maintaining code within the SAP ecosystem including SAP S/4HANA and SAP Business Technology Platform.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and SAP Clean Core principles.
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Applicant Resiliency and Security.
• Demonstrated knowledge of SAP Business AI services such as SAP AI Core AI Foundation GenAI Hub and AI Launchpad.

Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills

• Experience in integrating SAP solutions with OpenText Extended ECM.
• Experience designing and orchestrating Agentic AI capabilities for end-to-end SAP process automation.
• Prior leadership of AI proof-of-concepts demonstrating measurable impact within SAP landscapes.
• Familiarity with responsible AI governance frameworks and data strategy within regulated enterprises.
