Exciting Opportunity for a Neonatologist in Alexandria Louisiana!

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a full-time Neonatologist to join its collaborative and high-acuity NICU team at a leading pediatric facility in Alexandria Louisiana. This position offers a balanced 7-on/7-off schedule and a home call model providing the opportunity to deliver advanced neonatal care in one of Central Louisianas premier healthcare settings.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive neonatal care in a 34-bed Level III NICU with diverse acuity levels.
• Collaborate within a 2 Neonatologist and 4 Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) team model.
• Conduct daily neonatal rounds and manage patient care plans.
• Oversee and support 24/7 in-house NNP coverage.
• Participate in home call coverage after completing daily rounds.
• Manage newborn nursery rounds as part of patient care responsibilities.
• Support approximately annual deliveries.
• Provide coverage for in-house patients while the NNP-led transport team manages neonatal transports.
• Deliver care aligned with evidence-based protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams in a collegial and supportive clinical environment.
• Contribute to ongoing clinical excellence and neonatal care advancements.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Pediatrics.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatology.
• Clean Malpractice/License History (highly preferred).
• Louisiana Medical License (or willing to obtain).

License and Certification Requirements:

• Must be board certified in Pediatrics - no exemptions.
• DEA must be obtained prior to start.
• Most recent NPDB Self Query Report (within 30 days active) - required at presentation.
