Preschool Director/Teacher
Awaken Christian Academy is looking for a full-time passionate Preschool Educator. This role will equally be responsible for Teaching half day classes and overseeing the daily Preschool operation.
POSITION SUMMARY

As such each staff member is a part of the ministry by teaching the Bible praying for and with others and carrying out the vision of Awaken Las Vegas. The Teacher is the schools most important resource and they are the primary instructor and caregiver to the students during the day.
This position models Christian beliefs thoughts and actions on and off the job to the students as they teach. The role shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes skills and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature able and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God. This position clearly presents the Gospel the good news of salvation whenever the occasion arises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preschool Director: The Preschool Director is responsible for all aspects of establishing and operating a morning and afternoon preschool program for children from the age of 2 years through pre-kindergarten. This includes leadership of child enrollment processes curriculum classroom management parent engagement licensing compliance and staff development.
- Preschool Teacher: Delivers age-appropriate curriculum that agrees with the school philosophy and includes the total development of the child in a loving Christian atmosphere. Teachers observe and evaluate students behavior performance social development and physical health.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a team of teachers and other staff in the planning supervision and implementation of a premier Christian preschool including day-to-day operation and routine special events.
- Collaborate with social media marketing and advertising efforts to ensure interest in the Preschool and fuels strong enrollment in both morning and afternoon programs.
- Train teachers and staff members as needed on preschool classrooms and event procedures.
- Establish enrollment processes that ensure children are enrolled efficiently acclimated smoothly into their classroom and monitored to ensure success.
- Function as primary contact person for parents and guardians on enrollment aid in admission process student progress and all other matters pertaining to the preschool.
- Regularly select and/or develop curriculum for a preschool childrens education programs that are fun educational and appropriate for the preschool environment.
- Implement classroom management practices certifying that a safe secure and orderly preschool environment is always maintained.
- Regularly monitor evaluate and develop staff ensuring constant improvement fostering and development of a continuous learning culture in classroom management practices.
- Lead the creative use and proactive upkeep of childrens ministry facilities and grounds.
- Develop an annual budget for the preschool ensuring needs are met and profitability targets are realized.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- Minimum 6 to 18 months of teaching in an Early Childhood environment.
- Must have basic computer skills familiarity with educational technology and online instruction.
Education
- Minimum of High School Graduation/GED with 15 semesters hours in Early Childhood Education or combination of experience and education as required per Child Care Licensing.
- AA/BA in Early Childhood Education preferred but not required.
Certification/ Licensure
- Must obtain State of Nevada Child Care Director License.
- Must be CPR/First Aid/AED certified within 90 days of hire.

- Ability to meet deadlines including attendance grading and in-person curriculum planning.
WORKING CONDITION REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to constantly maneuver around.
- Must be able to lift push or pull up to 30 lbs.
- Must have specific vision abilities which include close distance color peripheral depth vision
- Must be able to work around and with moderate noise levels
