Job Description:
Design build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms supporting enterprise analytics reporting and mission-critical systems. Responsible for enabling data-driven decision-making through efficient data architecture integration and governance aligned with Federal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows
Build and manage data lakes data warehouses and real-time data processing systems
Develop data quality frameworks validation processes and monitoring mechanisms
Optimize data processing performance scalability and cost efficiency
Collaborate with data scientists analysts and business stakeholders to ensure data availability and usability
Implement data governance security and privacy controls
Support structured and unstructured data integration from multiple sources
Evaluate and implement modern data tools frameworks and technologies
Create and maintain technical documentation for data architecture and pipelines
Mentor junior data engineers and establish data engineering best practices
Minimum Requirements & Education:
BA/BS in Computer Science Engineering or related field with 5 8 years of experience
OR
MS degree with 3 5 years of relevant experience
Required Qualifications:
Prior Federal experience required
Strong experience in data engineering ETL development and data warehousing
Experience with SQL Python and data processing frameworks
Hands-on experience with Databricks Spark or similar platforms
Experience working with cloud environments (AWS / Azure)
Understanding of data governance data security and compliance standards
Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Power BI or other BI/visualization tools
Experience supporting large-scale data modernization initiatives
Familiarity with real-time/streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka Spark Streaming)
Cloud certifications (AWS / Azure Data Engineer)
Agile / Scrum experience
