Your Role

Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS) is one of Victorias largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.

We are seeking an experienced and culturally capable Coordinator Mens Case Management to lead the delivery of case management services across the Mallee region.

The Mens Family Violence team provides preventative and interventions-based support to Aboriginal men with the aim of addressing family violence and improving safety for individuals families and community.

Services are delivered to Aboriginal men wo are:

  • removed from the home due to family violence and at risk of homelessness; and
  • at risk of using violence with a focus on early interventions and behavior change.
Ini this role you will also provide support to the Manager Family Violence in program oversight and continuous improvement ensuring programs operate in line with MDAS policies procedures and funding requirements.

This is a permanent full time position based at our Mildura office location.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated knowledge of family violence legislation and knowledge of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and the Common Risk Assessment Framework.
  • Experience in working within Aboriginal Communities along with the ability to lead motivate mentor train and manage a large multidisciplinary team and to adapt to changing environments and requirements including an ability to lead others through the process of change.

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills including ability to manageconflicting priorities and high caseloads without affecting quality of service delivery and experience in the management and preparation of budgets.

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills and relationship management skills including mediation conflict resolution skills negotiation skills and including ability to represent MDAS in a range of external forums with a diverse range of stakeholders

  • Ability to take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services

Qualification/s:
Diploma of Community Services or working towards.

Other Screening Requirements:
Valid Drivers License that allows you to drive in Australia.
Victorian Employee Working with Children Check card.
National Police Check.
