Position Overview

Under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital the Housekeeping Porter is responsible for performing various cleaning functions/services throughout all areas of the Hospital campus; understanding and following Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) guidelines; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 10.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to read write speak and understand English.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact well with others.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt readily to fast-paced situations.
  • Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk stand bend lift twist and reach continuously throughout the entire shift.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of approximately 50 lbs./23 kgs.
  • Ability to lift push and pull heavy weights climb ladders/skyjack/scissor lift.
