Job Title: Locum Physician - Anesthesiology - Cardiac

Summary: This opportunity is with a renowned 187-bed Level 1 Trauma and Academic Center located in the vibrant city of Omaha Nebraska. The facility is actively seeking experienced cardiac anesthesiology locums to cover a variety of cases including open heart thoracic vascular and structural heart cases. Candidates must be TEE certified with a cardiac anesthesiology fellowship addition to cardiac cases locums will assist with general operating room responsibilities as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide anesthesia for open heart thoracic vascular and structural heart procedures.
• Assist with general operating room cases when required.
• Participate in unrestricted overnight call and weekend call.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of advanced perioperative echocardiography.
• Support and collaborate with surgical teams during procedures.
• Document patient care and procedures in an electronic medical record (EMR) system specifically EPIC.

Qualifications:

• Completed an approved ACGME or International equivalent cardiac anesthesia fellowship.
• Testamur status in Advanced Perioperative Echocardiography (NBE) required.
• At least five years of documented experience in CV Anesthesia if fellowship-trained applicants are unavailable.
• Letters of recommendation from anesthesiologists and CV surgeons strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions regarding patient care.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Board Certified in Cardiac Anesthesiology and in Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) - required.
• Current Nebraska state license highly preferred or IMLC.
• Clean malpractice history and background check preferable.
• Self-Query NPDB report must be dated within 30 days of presentation date - required.
